Getting around in Gothenburg

To and from the Landvetter Airport

Airport buses depart every 20 minutes. The trip to the city centre takes 30 minutes. Book your ticket with the bus at the Airport Coaches webpage. Tickets are valid for three months from the date of purchaset. The bus makes a few stops in the centre of Gothenburg; if you want to go straight to your hotel, get off at Nils Ericssons Terminalen, which is the same as the Central Station. The cost is 95 SEK.

You can also take a taxi from the airport when you arrive. You will find them right outside the arrivals hall and the cost will be approximately 500 SEK each way.

Single ticket
One ticket costs 29 SEK and is valid for 90 min. Get your ticket on the bus from the driver or at the tram from the big blue machine in the middle of the tram; pay with cash or card.

Three-day ticket
Costs 170 SEK. Ride the tram or bus as many times as you like during three days (72 hours). Cheaper than a single ticket if you ride seven times or more during three days. Tickets can be bought in most kiosks and at Pressbyrån kiosk.

Rechargeable card
This is a good alternative if you are staying for a longer period and/or coming back several times. Costs 50 SEK to get the card. Then choose an amount between 100 and 1500 SEK to charge the card with. Every time you get on the bus or tram, you show the card to the card reader. 23 SEK will be withdrawn and you can travel for 90 min. It’s like a single ticket with a discount.
